Bringing mindfulness to your lifestyle and physiological well-being is an important facet of reducing stress and anxiety. When experiencing stress and anxiety, you may have less energy to take care of yourself! Perhaps you have come to rely on various quick fixes to satisfy your immediate needs, such as unhealthy foods, poor eating habits, not exercising, not getting enough sleep, or not taking the time to connect with others. Though these strategies may help you cope in the short term, all will negatively impact your health and well-being and add to your stress and anxiety in the long run. This presentation will introduce you to one very effective mindfulness practice: meditation.

Gratitude is now becoming an important part of psychology research – especially positive psychology research. Positive psychologists contend that gratitude is more than feeling thankful for something, it is a deeper appreciation for someone (or something,) which produces longer lasting positivity. This presentation will place gratitude in a historical context and highlight the role that gratitude plays in modern psychological research. Exploring both gratitude and positivity may help you to see new possibilities, bounce back from set-backs, connect with others and become a better version of yourself!
